Behind the Scenes of “Make Me a Match”
At long last, the second story in the Noble Matchmaker Series, “Make Me a Match” is posted in full on Wattpad! Click to read it if you haven’t already.
This story was much harder to write than the first story, “No Match for a Millionaire,” because I wanted it to introduce a new character, continue Riley and Trevor’s relationship arc, set up the plot for the third story, as well as continue the plot arc for the overall series. So much more complicated than I initially thought it would be!
I also worked really hard to make the characters in “Make Me a Match” sufficiently different from Riley and Trevor–their personalities are different, their goals are different, and the challenges they’ll face as a couple are different. While Trevor McKnight is an alpha millionaire extraordinaire, Whit is much more of a beta hero — sensitive and funny, but no one would describe him as “arrogant.” Little did I know when I started, but beta heroes are a lot harder to write without making them come across as wimpy!
So far, the response to the story has been awesome–I’ve even had several people reach out to me to say they appreciated the relationship between Whit (a white dude) and Julia (a Mexican-American). Not to give away too much, but if you appreciated that, then you’ll definitely like the relationship I’ve got planned for story #3, “Match Made in Heaven.”
If you haven’t already, check it out and leave me a comment to let me know what you think. I try to respond to every single one. 🙂
